THEY SAY
Animated sci-fi tale set on Planet 51, whose
inhabitants live in fear of an alien invasion. Their paranoia is realized
when astronaut Capt. Charles "Chuck" Baker arrives from Earth. Befriended
by a young resident, the astronaut has to avoid capture in order to
recover his spaceship and return home.
"Planet 51 is the most ambitious project of
the Spanish films. It’s about a quiet planet that is visited by a human
alien. He thinks that there is no live in that planet and he only wants to
be famous for having been there the first, but later he realizes that is
not true. The script was written by the same author of Shrek, some
famous people put their voices in this film, which has cost around 60
million dollars."
"This is an ambitious film (seven years of work) in
order to be at the same level of other American super productions.
Planet 51 is supposed to be in the cinemas for Christmas of 2009."

WE SAY
It looks cute. A bit too cute to be honest. Plus it
has the dreaded “European co-production” tag attached to it (it was made
by a Spanish company) – never a good sign when it comes to this sort of
thing . . .
