THEY SAY
In the beginning they were a group of nine.
Nine aliens who left their home planet of Lorien when
it fell under attack by the evil Mogadorian. Nine aliens who scattered on
Earth. Nine aliens who look like ordinary teenagers living ordinary lives,
but who have extraordinary, paranormal skills. Nine aliens who might be
sitting next to you now.
The Nine had to separate and go into hiding.
The Mogadorian caught Number One in Malaysia, Number
Two in England, and Number Three in Kenya. All of them were killed.
John Smith, of Paradise, Ohio, is Number Four. He
knows that he is next.
I Am Number Four is the thrilling launch of a
series about an exceptional group of teens as they struggle to outrun
their past, discover their future - and live a normal life on Earth.
WE SAY
When we first heard about this project we thought
that it sounded a lot like
Smallville, so it came as no surprise when it was announced that
Smallville creators Al
Gough and Miles Millar would write the screenplay.
Movie rights for the novel were bought before the
novel was actually published. It is written by Million Little Pieces
author James Frey under the pseudonym of Pittacus Lore.
This DreamWorks movie is directed by D.J. Caruso of
Disturbia and Eagle Eye fame, both of which featured
Transformers star Shia LaBeouf.
By the way, as far as we can tell Caruso is still
attached to a movie version of the excellent
Y: The Last Man comic book series.
(By the way, Bookperk is offering a special edition
I Am Number Four book with a free movie ticket - to any movie - for
purchasing. The book is the movie tie-in edition and the promo only lasts
until the 21st. Check out
