GHOST RIDER 2 (2011) - PREVIEW

The sequel to the smash-hit comic book adaptation from 2007 that saw Nicolas Cage as a stunt motorcyclist Johnny Blaze who gives up his soul to become a hell-blazing vigilante, to fight against power hungry Blackheart, the son of the devil himself.

WE SAY

The first movie was kinda average at best, so one supposes that there is only room for improvement. Cage (who stars in about anything nowadays) has already signed on, but no director or screenwriter/s have been announced as yet even though a recent article in Variety says that Blade, Batman Begins writer David Goyer is going to "reboot" the franchise. It is unclear whether Goyer will also direct the movie. His last movie was the recent horror flick The Unborn. Even though no release date has been set, don't expect this movie earlier than 2011.

UPDATE (5 November 2009): Screenwriter David Goyer says Ghost Rider 2 won't be a reboot, but it will be more "realistic" . . .
