While touring the crime scene lab of his uncle, Barry
Allen, teenager Wally West is doused in chemicals after a lightning bolt
strikes them, which enables him to run faster than any other human being
on earth. Becoming the Flash, Wally sets out to protect the people of his
city from the villainous threats that arise.
With the Flash a major part of George Miller's Justice
League movie, The Flash will feature Wally West and be set in the
same universe as Justice League as a direct spin-off.
Created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Harry Lampert,
The Flash has the ability to run and move extremely fast, use
superhuman reflexes and violate certain laws of physics, like time travel.
Shawn Levy and David Goyer were previously attached to
direct.
WE SAY
Wasn't there a Flash TV series that was a
ratings flop back in the 1990s? Not ones to be deterred, Hollywood is
nonetheless forging ahead with this new adaptation. No news as to casting
yet, but with advances in CGI bringing The Flash to the big screen
seems like a no-brainer. Especially since men in spandex movies rule at
the box office . . .
