A recurring theme of virtually all of these fantasy productions involving powerful warriors, is that the heroes are just too darn HANDSOME!!! Virtually ALL of the REAL historical sword welding warriors in the history of the world, were on the far side of UGLY! So, of course they casted a ‘Superman’ actor whose good looks put most supermodels to shame! And warfare does not leave pretty marks on people! They get around that fact of medieval sword fighting, by giving such characters a ‘Wolverine’-like fast-healing power, but it’s STILL kind of ridiculous! Sorry, I just cannot make the fantasy connection here, to enjoy this series fully, when I know that thing as an empirical fact. And again, never get in a fight with an ugly man, he has less to lose!
