Dear Terminator fans, a recurring storyline snafu about ALL of the Terminator movies is, why don’t the heroes tailor their weapons to SPECIFICALLY destroy the electronics of the terminator robots? It’s not technically hard, if you got a well-equipped car garage, you can ‘MacGyver’ an EMP (Electro-Magnetic Pulse) weapon, in a small bomb or gun design, and use it to ZAP the robot’s electronics package and destroy it! Or, you can also use various electric Taser weapons to do the same thing! Then there’s other ‘MacGyver’ weapons that you can improvise, like adapting a paintball gun, to plaster the eyes of attacking robots with paint, or crazy glue, to blind them effectively. Or, you could create a binary-container paintball, that upon impact, combines two acids, to make a splatter of an ‘Aqua Regia’ solvent, that can dissolve ANY type of metal alloy. Or put rocket fuel, or even some kind of Thermite, in the paintballs, and then hit it with a flare gun or hot bullet, to overheat its metal body, which would melt its CPU as well. Heck, if you got a bunch of kids with slingshots, they could cover the robot with strong magnets from a distance, and the magnets would turn it off as well! And, if the people in the future are always at war with the Terminators, wouldn’t they acquire a LOT of broken up Terminator robot parts, and simply re-assemble them, minus their Skynet CPUs, and give them simple CPUs to re-program them, to go shooting the original advancing Terminators on the battlefields for them? And if they keep invading and shooting up their various safehouses, why not install hidden electric booby traps at the entryways of such places, so that a stepped up electric transformer, can hit them with enough high voltage to burn out their CPUs or electronics packages as well? It’s an electronic menace, tailor your defenses and weapons accordingly! Most of these options could be stopped by a lot of armoring or insulation, but that would make these war robots too big, bulky , heavy and slow moving, to operate effectively, so the SOP Terminator model is always very streamlined!
