Here at The Sci-Fi Movie page are pleased to bring you the latest news of the newest Star Trek Series in a quickly expanding Trek-verse in the form of a teaser for the much anticipated Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is set to take on the task of getting fans back into the idea of someone that came before Kirk or Picard and will feature a younger Spock and a different Number One than many people grew up with, considering that Will Riker was the most popular Number One for a long time.

Trek canon has established that Pike commanded two consecutive five-year-missions on the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 before Kirk taking command in 2265. (Though in some old canon this was 2264.) The events of “The Cage” on Talos IV happen before Discovery and presumably Strange New Worlds.

One of the biggest departures for Strange New Worlds will actually be a return of sorts. Since 2017, the new Trek series has focused on heavily serialized seasons in which each episode must be watched to avoid being totally confused. Strange New Worlds is poised to return to stand-alone, episodic stories, a type of sci-fi storytelling that defined The Original Series and The Next Generation.

Because of the global pandemic and other factors, a release date for the series is still unknown. Super-optimistic launch date: late 2021. Realistic launch date: 2022 or 2023.
