A lot of fans have issues with this vision for a Star Trek series and some have even expressed that they feel betrayed; personally, I think this is the best sci-fi series currently on television. In any case, the season three trailer is here and brings with it answers to questions that a lot of fans of the show have wanted to since season 2 ended when Discovery went through that wormhole.

It looks like Discovery is going to make good on a promise made by Kurtzman this past summer who said Season 3 would be shaking up Star Trek canon in some big ways. Season 3 is taking fans boldly in a new direction. How well it gets received only time will tell.

Star Trek: Discovery returns in 2020, only on CBS All Access.
