The latest trailer for M. Night Shymalan’s Glass has arrived, and the implicit showdown in the works has the same appeal as a heavyweight championship bout. The upcoming film is a crossover between 2000’s post-modern superhero film Unbreakable and 2016’s Split with the principal antagonists of both movies joining forces to take on Bruce Willis’ David Dunn in a superpowered showdown.
The superhero movie brings characters from two of the director’s previous films together, with Unbreakable’s Mr. Glass and David Dunn and Split‘s Kevin Wendell Crumb/The Beast sharing the same room. The trailer explains how all three characters will reunite on the big screen, and how Glass and The Beast will end up teaming up to take on Dunn’s raincoat-clad superhero.
The trailer portrays the disbelief and skepticism on the part of a psychological therapist that specializes in what she thinks are delusional patients. A therapist who is in for a big surprise, if she survives.
Directed and written by M. Night Shyamalan, Glass is slated for release on January 18, 2019. The film stars James McAvoy as Kevin Wendell Crumb/The Beast, Bruce Willis as David Dunn, Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey Cooke, Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price/Mr. Glass, and Sarah Paulson as Ellie Staple.
