Deadly Class, the upcoming Image Comics adaptation executive produced by the Russo Brothers, has just released a brand new trailer. Along with the first trailer (see below) it tells a story that follows high schoolers attending a private academy that trains them to be brutal assassins, the latest trailer shows Bay Area misfit Marcus getting recruited into the dangerous school where the usual teenage rivalries often come with bloody consequences.
Imagine a twisted coming-of-age story with the usual YA drama firmly in place and features a school that specializes in training and creating a dangerously deadly group of misfits. You’re starting to get the idea of what Syfy’s Deadly Class and the story it tells. The drama unfolds at King’s Dominion, where Master Lin offers students a chance to join the academy and master the deadly arts.
The series, based on the critically acclaimed Image series by writer Rick Remender and artist Wes Craig, which got launched back in 2014. The comic series is based on an intriguing premise and set in the late 1980’s at King’s Dominion High School for the Deadly Arts, a place where the world’s top crime families send the next generation of assassins to get trained.
Deadly Class hails from producers Joe and Anthony Russo; these days perhaps are best known for their work with Marvel Studios, who are huge fans of the comic.
Deadly Class stars Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange), Benjamin Wadsworth (Teen Wolf), Lana Condor (To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before), María Gabriela de Faría (Yo Soy Franky), Luke Tennie (Shock and Awe), Liam James (The Killing), and Michel Duval (Queen of the South). It is executive produced by Joe and Anthony Russo with Remender serving as both executive producer and co-showrunner with Miles Orion Feldsott and Mick Betancourt. The series premieres on January 16 on Syfy at 1o pm ET/PT.
