Fox announced on Monday that it has cancelled the series . . .

Expect loads of “extinct” puns in the media as Fox cancels this expensive Steven Spielberg sci-fi show filmed in Australia.

(It is about a family from the polluted and overpopulated year 2149 who travels back 85 million years in time to the age of dinosaurs to join a colony of humans trying to rebuild civilization.)

It doesn’t necessarily mean the end of Terra Nova as 20th Century Fox Television is shopping the show to other networks, but it seems likely that this is indeed the end.

The show’s cancellation has also fueled speculation as to the future of two other Fox shows, namely J.J. Abrams’ Alcatraz and The Finder.

    this is not nice news

The show has an element of 99% vs 1%.   Which probably doesn’t help sell it to 1%’ers looking to invest money.

    Seriously?

     I agree with Jolly,
the over-all theme of the show, besides dinosaurs, was Humanity vs the Evil Corporations that destroyed the world…Fox, being s Republican, capitalist entity probably got their collective “feelings” hurt, well, we know these CEO’s dont have actual feelings…Spielberg attacked their self-esteem…so, the low-self-esteem Fox boardroom members dont want to pay for another kick-ass season of Terra Nova because the t.v. series makes their “kind/type” look bad…

    Jack:
The Six’ers are the future equivalent of today’s 1%, I gather.    (I missed the first episode). Was a good drama, though short on dinosaurs.   Much like Walking Dead, where the zombies are outside of the main action, the interactions between the living.       Sid Jolly
