What’s this? An actual outer space drama series on SYFY? Well maybe . . .
The SYFY channel is looking to add more scripted series to its line up with a project that has been developed over the last two years by Brian Fuller and Robert Haimi, Sr.
The series is an adaptation of a 1969 YA science fiction novel titled The Lotus Caves by John Christopher. The story is set in the future on an internationally colonized moon being mined for resources. When two boys make an alien discovery. It creates a frenzy of competition between nations eager to exploit whatever the mysterious discovery may be.
Production of the 90 minute pilot will begin in Vancouver this fall, with the potential to become a series if it is well received.
On another front SYFY also has a Booster Gold pilot in the works. Maybe some one over there finally realized they should actually have some sci-fi shows on a channel with the name SYFY!
I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Sounds like it has potential to be a good show. I am eager to see them succeed at this. The idea of a good, futuristic outer space mystery/adventure series on tv is something many of us fans would be happy to see.
