Plans are going ahead on a TV series based on King’s Under the Dome . . .

Under the Dome book coverBrian K. Vaughan – creator of the Y: The Last Man comic book and regular writer on Lost – has been signed on to write the TV adaptation of Stephen King’s bulky Under the Dome novel.

In King’s novel a mysterious force field cuts off a small Maine town from the outside world. Life inside the dome becomes a struggle to survive as rival factions fight it out. Think Lord of the Flies and you’ll get the idea.

Stephen King himself will executive produce along with Steven Spielberg, Stacey Snider, Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey.

DreamWorks originally bought the TV rights to the book back in 2009 upon its publication.
