Fall 2011 TV Preview (Part One)
Don’t know which new SF, fantasy & horror TV shows to check out this fall? We help you decide . . .
No shows with starship captains this fall, alas, now that StarGate: Universe is floating aimlessly between galaxies, but loads of other fantasy & horror shows heading our way.
Many of them are aiming to cash in on the enduring popularity of Twilight and its photogenic teens (yes, we’re looking at you here Kevin Williamson’s The Secret Circle).
Others follow the X-Files template as earth-bound “unofficial” law officials investigate strange goings-on in shows rich in their own mythology.
In this article we only look at shows new on air and in part 2 we’ll look at returning shows.
Sadly of the new shows only two can be vaguely classified as sci-fi: executive producer Steven Spielberg’s Terra Nova (time travel) and Alcatraz, the new J.J. Abrams show (also time travel). The rest are either horror or fantasy.
So check out the trailers and promos below.
