Minor DC Comics superhero character heading for TV screens . . .

Syfy has ordered a one-hour pilot script by Fringe writer Andrew Kreisberg based on the Booster Gold DC Comics superhero character.

Wikipedia describes the character as “a glory-seeking showboat from the future, using knowledge of historical events and futuristic technology to stage high-publicity heroics. Booster develops over the course of his publication history and through personal tragedies to become a true hero weighed down by the reputation he has created for himself.”

(You can read more about the character here in a Wikipedia article that is longer than their entry on the country of Denmark.)

Booster Gold most recently made an appearance in a few episodes of the animated Batman: Brave & the Bold TV show as well as Smallville.

I remember seeing this character when I read comic books back in high school. Seemed lame back then. I am sure the years will make it seem even more lame now.
