Check out the kick ass trailer for the planned Battlestar Galactica prequel . . .
UPDATE: Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome will NOT be made into a TV series!
Instead, the 90 minute pilot episode that was recently completed will be first “broadcast” as a web series before being shown in its entirety on Syfy.
Here’s the official doublespeak statement by Syfy president Mark Stern:
“We are actively pursuing it [Blood & Chrome] as was originally intended: a groundbreaking digital series that will launch to audiences beyond the scope of a television screen. The 90-minute pilot movie will air on Syfy in its entirety at a future date. Our enthusiasm for this ambitious project has not waned.”
Translated: “Blood & Chrome will be too expensive to produce and we think no-one will watch it in any case just like no-one watched Caprica. What were we thinking? Besides, there are obviously too many cheap wrestling shows out there than to bother with an actual sci-fi show that will please SF fans . . .”
Nope, Blood & Chrome is not about the Google software team’s efforts to get the Chrome browser onto the market, but a prequel to the Battlestar Galactica reboot TV series.
According to Wikipedia it is:
Set in the tenth year of the First Cylon War, the story follows William Adama as a young man, with the call sign “Husker”. William, being a recent Academy graduate, is assigned to the newest battlestar in the Colonial fleet; the Galactica. He is ordered to escort a young woman, who eventually turns out to have vital information that carries significant importance to certain Cylon secrets. He is accompanied by Coker. The routine mission eventually turns dangerous and becomes a pivotal part in their story.
It certainly looks a lot more kick ass than Caprica!
