M. Night Shyamalan wants actresses for upcoming Will Smith sci-fi flick . . .

Zoe Kravitz (who appeared in X-Men: First Class, daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet) and Sophie Okonedo (Aeon Flux, Hotel Rwanda) are in negotiations to star in M. Night Shyamalan’s upcoming sci-fi actioner 1000 A.E. for Columbia Pictures.

The movie will also star Will Smith and his son Jaden Smith (now 13 years old).

According to MovieWeb.com 1000 A.E. is set in a future in which humans no longer live on Earth after it becomes inhospitable: “Will Smith is playing a hero, while Jaden Smith is his son, considered a failure as a warrior. When the two crash-land on Earth, it is up to the son to save the dad.”

M. Night Shyamalan did the script along with Gary Whitta (Book of Eli) and Stephen Gaghan (Traffic).

The movie is set to start filming early 2012 with a June 2013 release date in mind.

(As far as we can make out the movie has absolutely nothing to with the 2000 animated flick Titan AE.)

Let’s see: a cliched script by a talent-less director who can somehow still find gainful employment after messing up a movie version of wonderful TV series; the spoiled brat who ruined the Day the Earth Stood Still remake and one of Hollywood’s largest egomaniacs? What’s not to dislike?
