Remake the movie and stay true to Heinlien’s book and utilize the CGI available today. The first movie failed to have the MI in Power Suits, that’s why they are called Mobile Infantry! The book book never said that only soldiers are allowed to vote. It advocated a society in which citizens gained the right to vote by serving their nation/government in some capacity. Citizens who earned the right to vote respected and cherished it more than those who were just given it by means of birth. In the book the recruiter tried his best to discourage Rico from joining the MI and to serve in something other than the mobile infantry. Corporal punishment was used because so-called modern rehab techniques didn’t deter crime and respect for the law. The use of corporal punishment was seen as a last ditch effort preferable to possible execution.

all these verhoven reboots are bad ideas. I would have been all about the Robocop remake had Aronofsky still been at the helm. But a Total Recall remake with collin farrel replacing Arnold? HA! thats laughable!

This is a horrible idea. The original was such a great satire and hollywood doesn’t seem to have any room for any intelligence anymore. bab bad bad idea.
