Star Trek 2 to finally start production in January 2012 . . .
Actor Zachary Quinto revealed the following about his role as Spock in the upcoming Star Trek 2:
“There’s a big sequence for me that I have to prepare for in this movie physically so I’m training, working on getting in some serious shape, building my cardio endurance, preparing to run a lot.”
So fans are to expect yet another action-filled entry in this newly revamped franchise.
The as-yet-untitled sequel is currently in pre-production and starts production in January.
It is slated for a summer 2012 release.
The plot remains one of the most tightly guarded secrets in Hollywood.
The movie will star Zoe Saldana, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Anton Yelchin and Simon Pegg.
Writers are Alex Kurtzman, Damon Lindelof, and Roberto Orci. It will again be directed by J.J. Abrams.

I hope this isn’t so fu**ing awful as the last one. Let’s have the return of Data’s cat Spot as a time-warped alien feline monster in disguise in charge of an invasion fleet taking over the planet Earth for it’s supply of Cat Litter. All armed with nukes and photon torpedoes, of course.
Yawn Yawn zzzz……
SF seems to have died with Gene Rodenberry. All that’s left now is Hollywood CRAP.
I so miss the TNG! And DS9 and Voyager and Enterprise! Id rather have a good OLE Star Trek series than a movie anyday!
I want my Trek the way it was meant to be!
I will see the movie..in May 2013..because what else is there?
