Hellboy actor joins Guillermo del Toro’s epic monster flick . . .

Pacific Rim bannerRon Perlman has reunited with the Hellboy director for Pacific Rim, which the director has described as “very, very beautiful poem to giant monsters.”

The movie started filming on Monday and is slated for a May 10th, 2013 release date.

According to del Toro the movie is about “giant monsters versus giant robots. Twenty-five-story-high robots beating the crap out of 25-story-high monsters. We’re trying to create a world in which the characters are real and how it would affect our world politically, how it would affect the landscape if creatures like this really came out of the sea, etc.”

The movie also stars Idris Elba, Charlie Day and Charlie Hunnam.

I like the Hellboy movies, Guillermo del Toro & Ron Perlman…so, I will watch/enjoy this Sci-Fi monster movie—

but, Hollywood writers have reached a new low point in terms of (lacking creativity/original Science fiction plots or story ideas) & stealing from the creative resources of World-Wide Comic Book Culture/Japanese Sci-Fi pop culture.
