Check out the updated logo in some banner art from the upcoming Superman movie . . .

The stylized logo is in line with director Zack “style over substance” Snyder’s (Watchmen, Sucker Punch, 300) revamped vision of the famous DC Comics character, which includes according to reports:

a.) A “neo-medieval” back-story on Kal-El’s home planet of Krypton

b) No red underpants for Superman

c) An actor that doesn’t actually look much like Superman

Whereas Bryan Singer’s 2006 Superman Returns was a loving homage to the 1970s Richard Donner flick, Snyder’s Man of Steel is seemingly veering off faster than a speeding bullet in the opposite direction “reimagining” the whole caboodle.

We’re sorry. If there are no red underpants, then it’s not Superman!

Release date is June 14th, 2013. Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe and Julia Ormond. The movie is directed by Zack Snyder.

the red underpants has always held back superman, thats why even dc has got rid of it in their comics

  • Steve Wells

They haven’t really redesigned it much, just made it look more 3D, which I’m sure they’ll also do to the movie itself (unfortunately).

It’s got Fishburne in it, so all hope is not lost, maybe he can redeem this movie like Spacey did to the last one.
