Aussie director George Miller, who directed the original Mad Max trilogy and the, er, Happy Feet movies, revealed that there might be more Mad Max movies on their way besides the current Fury Road project:
“We started with [Fury Road], but we then started to do a second story and a third. We’ve written the script for the second and almost finished the third. We never intended to, [but] they were part of the exploration of the characters.”
Mel Gibson won’t be back as the titular character. Instead the movies will feature Tom Hardy, who played Captain Picard’s clone in Star Trek: Nemesis.
Mad Max 4: Fury Road has been beset by weather problems as desert locations in Australia got rained out, but according to the latest reports the film is now set to start filming in Namibia in April.
