		<description>One thing I was always a little confused about Burroughs&#039; Barsoomian women.  Barsoomians were oviparous - they laid eggs that incubated for five years before the young finally hatched as toddlers.  As the eggs provided all the nourishment necessary to keep the young alive, there was thus no need feed them from an outside source.  Why then the mammary glands?  Other than the delightful aesthetic value from an Earthling&#039;s point of view, they serve no evolutionary purpose for the Barsoomians.  Not that I&#039;m complaining, mind you...</description>
