Latest Internet rumor has it that Warner Bros is going ahead with a Justice League movie . . .
According to the latest rumors anyone from comic book writer Geoff Johns and director Christopher Nolan as producer will be involved as well as Ryan Reynolds and Christian Bale returning as Green Lantern and Batman.
Truth is that until there is some definite word from the studio to treat these rumors as just that: rumors.
Warners shelved plans for a Justice League movie by director George Miller (Mad Max, Happy Feet) quite a while ago and is unlikely to revive these plans before the upcoming Superman: Man of Steel project by Watchmen director Zack Snyder does fantastically well at the box office.
This year’s Green Lantern didn’t exactly set the box office alight either, which makes a Justice League movie even more unlikely.
Also to be honest it is difficult to see Christopher Nolan’s hard-assed vision of Batman sharing the same movie as that of Green Lantern and Superman. It will dilute whatever Nolan has achieved and, to be honest, I wouldn’t be surprised if both Nolan and actor Bale saw it that way as well . . .
