Audiences will get to see teaser trailer sooner than expected!

Andy Serkis, who is reprising his role as Gollum in the upcoming Hobbit movies revealed to IGN that “there will be a trailer fairly soon, actually. Around Christmas time, I believe.”

Peter Jackson is currently filming The Hobbit – Tolkien’s prequel of sorts to Lord of the Rings – as two separate movies in New Zealand right now.

Part one (called An Unexpected Journey) will be released on 14 December 2012. Part two will be released as The Hobbit: There and Back Again on 13 December 2013. Filming will end March 2012.

The movies will reunite much of the original Lord of the Rings’ cast.
