Writer takes over from Batman Begins author

Godzilla movie posterMax Borenstein (Art of the Steal) has been tasked with rewriting the upcoming remake of Godzilla.

Batman Begins scribe David Goyer previously worked on the script.

Insiders say the remake will be closer to the original Japanese films than the 1998 Roland Emmerich remake. (Does that mean they’ll use a guy in a rubber suit again?)

The movie will be directed by Gareth Edwards, who made a splash with his indie low-budget flick, Monsters.

Release date will probably be around 2014.
