Producer talks future of X-Files film franchise . . .

During a recent interview with producer Frank Spotnitz on his new UK series Hunter he was asked about the possibility of a third X-Files movie.

Here’s what he had to say:

“There is a very active and relentless fan campaign for a last movie. I do feel like it would be a terrible shame if that didn’t happen. It feels wrong not to give it an ending around the alien colonization of earth. David [Duchovny] and Gillian [Anderson] feel the same. I have a clear idea of how it would go and I’ve been talking to Chris Carter about it for a long time. I’ll keep banging the drum whenever I meet the Fox guys [the studio holds the sequel rights but was disappointed by the original’s lackluster box office].”

I am confused, I thought we were supposed to be fighting the future, not embracing it…;)

X-files is my favorite tv show and movies……So hope another movie will be made.

Yeah, the reason the last X-files movie didn’t do well at the box office is because it was a major let down. It was like watching one of the worst episodes of the TV series – LAME!
If the script is good, the producer is half-descent then most likely the movie will be great!

Black people invade earth and it’s up to scully and moulder to irradiate them. Now that’s a great script idea for xf3
