Dutch company unveils flying car (video) . . .

A Dutch company announced this week that it has held its first successful tests for a flying car – or maybe a helicopter you can drive on the highway, depends on how you look at it.

The PAL-V’s range is between 509 and 563 kilometers and it can do up to 177 kmph in the air and on the ground and is yours if have $300,000 lying around.

It is unclear whether it will come equipped with a flamethrower like James Bond’s gyrocopter in 1967’s You Only Live Twice (see video below).

This same week also saw the announcement of another flying car, the Terrafugia. But since it needs some ground clearance for liftoff we can’t see this one being used to beat the traffic during your daily commute.
