Check Out the Trailer for Chronicle Now
New teen superpower flick by the son of American Werewolf director!
What would happen if you got superpowers for real? Let’s face up to it: most of us won’t dress up in spandex and go stop bank robbers. Most of us will fix that road age a**hole in the traffic real good instead!
That is the premise behind Chronicle, which boasts a script by Max Landis (the son of American Werewolf in London and Animal House director John Landis). It looks at what happens when three Portland teenagers acquire superpowers and then turn on one another when personal problems arise. Power corrupts and superpowers corrupts absolutely it seems!
The movie may be shot in a fake documentary style (aren’t you sick of movies like that already? It’s sooo late ‘Nineties) but judging from the trailer it looks pretty interesting and well done. A more thoughtful look at superheroes than all the vacant CGI-costumed airheads populating summer movies right now. Yeah. We’re looking at you, Green Lantern . . .
The movie stars Dane DeHaan, Michael B. Jordan, Alex Russell and Michael Kelly. It is directed by Joshua Trank and set for a 3 February release date in the States.
