Director Bryan Singer says he is still working on the Battlestar Galactica reboot for Universal Pictures . . .

Battlestar Galactica posterDirector Bryan Singer said in a recent interview that he is still busy currently developing the Battlestar Galactica reboot for Universal Pictures.

This comes in the wake of the news that plans for Singer (X-Men, Superman Returns) to direct a remake of the 1981 Arthur story Excalibur for Warner Bros. has fallen through. This “allowed me to go straight into developing Battlestar Galactica – which I think will be really exciting,” the director says.

Incidentally Guy Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes) also had an Excalibur project which was shut down recently.

The Battlestar Galactica remake – of the original late ‘Seventies TV series, not the recent Syfy show – was announced back in 2009 but seems to have made little progress since then.
