Some Avengers news and our brand new image gallery . . .

The upcoming Avengers movie will clock in at 135 minutes – making it the longest Marvel movie to date!

Word also has it that this is after the director Joss Whedon has already cut 45 minutes from the film.

But don’t expect a “director’s cut” anytime soon though, if the below excerpt from a recent interview with Whedon is anything to go by:

“I believe very strongly in putting the director’s cut into the theaters. I believe that the director’s cut is the best movie for the studio and the best version of the movie for the audience… I think people get to see a lot of extraordinary extras because I did shoot a bunch of stuff that I love, but the movie is the movie I want it to be.”

By the way, Whedon again denied Loki’s alien invader armies are either the Kree or the Skrulls:

“It is not the Kree or the Skrulls… Those two aliens are Marvel mainstays and have enormous back stories. They have a big life of their own that just could not be contained in a film where I already had seven movie stars.”

Anyway, here is our brand new Avengers image gallery. (The tags below will also take you to additional some poster art work including that poster with the horribly out-of-scale Captain America in the background.)
