THEY SAY
Aliens in the Attic, co-scripted by one of the
writers of Madagascar and the Academy Award-winning Wallace and
Gromit: The Curse of the Were Rabbit, is an adventure/comedy about
kids on a family vacation who must fight off an attack by knee-high alien
invaders with world-destroying ambitions - while the youngsters' parents
remain clueless about the battle.
WE SAY
It sounded kinda cool - until we saw the trailer and
realized that this is going to be a cutesy kiddies movie aimed at the
small tykes who liked Alvin & the Chipmunks. Think Zathura,
but with cute aliens. What we really were
hoping for is some Gremlins-like nastiness. Sigh, where's Joe Dante
when you need him?
Anyway, there were no preview screenings for the U.S.
media which usually means that the studio believes it's a piece of crud
and don't want critics to spread bad word of mouth . . .
