Yup, a third Resident Evil
movie. One supposes that Fifth Element actress Milla
Jovovich is also entitled to some sort of permanent employment . . .
Anyway, the previously titled Resident Evil:
Afterlife is now called Resident Evil: Extinction instead. The script
is by Paul W.S. Anderson who directed the first
Resident Evil movie and wrote its sequel, Resident Evil:
Apocalypse. (By all accounts the Alien vs. Predator
director is busy trashing, er, I mean remaking
Death Race 2000 at the moment . . .)
This latest installment in the movie franchise based on
the computer game will be directed by Russell Mulcahy who inflicted
Highlander II - The Quickening upon the world.
Milla Jovovich is back as Alice and she's running with a new pack of
humans, leading a caravan that's cutting through the Nevada desert on a
long trek to Alaska. Hunted by the minions of the perpetually scheming Dr.
Isaacs, Alice has zombies hungry for her flesh and lab rats hungry for her
blood
— while Alice herself is hungry for
only one thing: revenge.
